Pat Gordon
Membership Chair, Ohlone Audubon Society

After working as a research food chemist for 34 years, Pat Gordon wanted to devote her life to giving back to society. So she began teaching biology and joined the Ohlone Audubon Society. There, she leads field trips and participates in local conservation advocacy.
Pat birds not only to add new species to her lifelist, but to “observe wildlife in different habitats, and to see the whole ecosystem working together.” She has visited most of the Earth's "biomes" while birding, from the sub-Antarctic in the south to the Artic in the north and the rainforests in-between. She met Lynnea while teaching and has since enjoyed sharing her extensive knowledge of local birds. Sharing nature with other people, especially young people, is so important. Growing an awareness and appreciation of the environment, is key to the longevity of environmental conservation.
